Auto
In
the province of Saskatchewan each licensed driver and vehicle is
insured by the Auto Fund. For private passenger vehicles Sask Auto
Fund provides the following coverage:
-
$700 deductible for vehicle damage
-
$200,000 liability protection
-
Personal Injury Coverage
An
Auto Extension Policy gives you the option to lower the deductibles
for vehicle damage as low as $50 and to increase your liability
limit as high as $5,000,000. On an Extension Policy you also have
the ability to tailor your coverage to meet your specific needs
by purchasing coverage for:
- Road
hazard glass (damage to windshield and windows caused
by something being thrown up from the road or off a passing vehicle
such as stone damage);
- Loss
of use (provides a rental vehicle in cases of at-fault
accidents or theft of the entire automobile, etc) and;
- Replacement
cost (protection against rising costs of repair and depreciation
on brand new vehicles). An Auto Extension Policy will also allow
your deductible to be waived for losses caused by fire, wildlife
or theft of the entire automobile.
At
MGP Insurance Centre Ltd. we offer placing your auto policy with
SGI Canada or Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company.

Home
& Condo
Homeowners
Homeowners
insurance policies are for the owner-occupant of a home to cover
the dwelling building, personal possessions, other than an auto
and certain specifically excluded items, and personal liability.
Homeowners
policies come in several types. These policies can be written as
Basic, Broad Form, or Comprehensive. Basic form covers the least,
Comprehensive form covers the most. Many companies issue all three
types.
Homeowners
insurance has three basic parts: dwelling, contents, and liability.
The dwelling part is pretty straightforward. If the home is fairly
new, determining its value should be relatively easy. When you are
establishing value bear in mind not to include the cost of the land.
We will do a Replacement Cost Estimator to allow a “guaranteed
replacement" to be put on your building value.
The
replacement cost option obligates the insurance company to pay for
the cost of replacing (not improving nor enlarging) your home even
if, due to current costs, the cost to replace exceeds the limit
stated on the policy. The replacement cost option protects you against
unanticipated spikes in the cost of building materials or labor.

Condo
THE CONDO UNIT OWNER'S POLICY COVERS:
Your personal belongings such as furniture, appliances, clothing,
televisions, etc. Personal Liability Coverage - This protects you
if you are found legally responsible for bodily injury to someone
else or for damage to their property. Improvements & Betterments
that have been made to your unit such as upgrading the carpeting,
or developing the basement. Contingent Coverage - This coverage
protects your unit in the event that the condo corporation has not
purchased adequate insurance or its insurance is inadequate. Loss
Assessment Coverage - This coverage protects you against any assessment
for loss made by the condo corporation in the event that there is
extensive damage to a common area of the building or grounds, and
your condo corporation is under-insured. This coverage also protects
you in the event your condo corporation is under-insured for a liability
claim.

OTHER
IMPORTANT FEATURES & INFORMATION:
The building is usually insured by the Condo Corporation/Building
Owner. Deductible Assessment Buyout Coverage - We recommend that
you consider adding this optional coverage. In the event of a claim
in your unit (such as a fire in the kitchen), your condo unit owner's
policy would pay out the deductible on the building policy through
the condo association so you would only have to pay the deductible
on your condo policy, rather than paying the deductible on both
policies. Unit Owner’s Glass Coverage - This optional coverage
can be added if you require coverage for the glass in your unit.
Unit Improvements & Betterments - Automatically included at
250% of your belongings amount. Example: belongings coverage $50,000,
then a limit of $125,000 is included for improvements & betterments.

Financial
Planning
Although
a few people are equipped to undertake the responsibility of financial
planning, most will require the services of a professional planner.
By establishing a personal Financial Plan today, you will be able
to provide financial security for tomorrow.
For
successful planning, the central focus must be identifying clients
actual financial needs and problems. This is why counseling with
clients to gather thorough and accurate information is crucial to
successful financial planning. As Independent Financial Planners,
we study all types of investment & insurance products to assess
their suitability for each of our clients – people from all
walks of life, with very different circumstances.
Financial
Planning can have a singular purpose, such as identifying investment,
or retirement objectives, or in fact may be multifaceted, incorporating
the use of insurance, tax planning, short- term savings, and retirement
objectives.
Our
planners are not fee based planners, but rather their remuneration
is paid solely on a commission basis, based on the products they
provide. We believe this to be a beneficial approach for the client
and planner alike, as we are not tied directly to any one company.
By creating and maintaining your financial plan, we will build a
long-term relationship with you, our client, that will be rewarding
for both parties.
